The Pier at Garden City in Garden City, South Carolina, is almost 670 feet long and is a stunning sight to behold, especially at night. The pier is a tourist attraction, bringing people from all over to fish, eat, shop, and just have fun. It was previously known as Kingfisher Pier before being destroyed by Hurricane Hugo in 1989. It was rebuilt and renamed in 1992. But this isn’t just a fishing pier or a place to watch the water, there is an arcade, café, and pavilion at the end of the dock and sometimes they have live music.
Although there are beaches all over the place, the best view of the Atlantic Ocean is from the end of the Pier at Garden City. Selfies taken here will be epic. However, there is nothing stopping you from taking a walk on the beaches along the coast. In fact, whether you go up the coast or down the coast, you’ll find beaches, shops, and eateries in every nook and cranny. Some of the best places are not even advertised. You just have to find them by accident.
Fun Fact: The pier was voted Best Pier by locals in 2004. The honor was bestowed again from 2006 until 2010, as listed in the Sun News.
