Le Festival du Livre de Paris, formerly Le Salon du Livre de Paris, is a prominent literary event celebrating French and international literature. The 2025 edition will be held from April 11 to 13 at the Grand Palais.

In 1981, the Syndicat National de l'Édition established the Salon du Livre de Paris. Initially held at the Grand Palais, this event has become a staple in the literary community. In the 1990s, it moved to the Porte de Versailles and, in 2022, returned to its original venue.

Expect typical Parisian spring weather. Average daytime highs will be around 15 C (59 F), with nighttime lows near 7 C (45 F). Dress in layers for cooler mornings and evenings, and don't forget an umbrella for unexpected showers.

Hurry up and purchase your ticket(s)! A one-day ticket costs €5 until April 9. From April 10, the price is €9. Individuals under 25, educators, library staff, booksellers, job hunters, and those with limited mobility, along with their companions, are granted free admission (with valid proof).

Security checks will be in place at the entrance for a smooth and safe experience at the fair. Bags will be inspected, and only those smaller than A3 size are allowed. To keep things hassle-free, avoid bringing large items. The venue follows standard event security measures, so expect metal detectors and bag scans. The address of the Grand Palais is 3 Avenue du Général Eisenhower, 75008 Paris. Here's how to get there:

• Metro: Lines 1 and 9 will take you to the Franklin D. Roosevelt station and Line 13 to the Champs-Élysées —Clemenceau station. Both stations are within a short walking distance.
• Bus: You can take bus lines 28, 32, 42, 72, 73, 80, 83, or 93 that stop near the Grand Palais.
• Vélib' (bike rental): Near the Grand Palais, there are several Vélib' stations where you can rent a bike. The closest stations are station 8005 (Avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt) and 8010 (Cours la Reine).
• Car: If driving, the nearest public parking garages are Parking Champs-Élysées (avenue des Champs-Élysées) and Parking Alma George V.

Festival du Livre 2025 Bag Policy

Only bags up to A3 size (approximately 29.7 x 42.0 cm or 11.7 x 16.5 inches) are permitted. There are no cloakrooms or storage facilities available at the venue.
