Founded in 2004 by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik as PAX (Penny Arcade Expo), the event started in Seattle and quickly grew into one of the biggest gaming conventions in the world. Due to its immense popularity, PAX East debuted in 2010 in Boston, Massachusetts. It brought the same mix of game demos, industry panels, tournaments, and fun to the East Coast.

Costumes and props must comply with event guidelines—no real or realistic weapons. Security staff and medical personnel are always available, so don’t hesitate to reach out if needed. How to Get To or From the Event

The venue is located at 415 Summer Street, Boston, MA 02210. Here's how to reach it:

• Car: Take I-93 North or South to Exit 20 for South Station. Follow signs for I-90 East, take the first exit toward South Boston, turn right onto Congress Street, then right onto D Street, and finally, right onto Summer Street. The venue will be on your left. There are 1,300 parking spots, so arrive on time to secure yours.
• Public transit: The MBTA Silver Line SL1 and SL2 buses provide service to the World Trade Center Station, a short walk from the BCEC.

PAX East 2025 Bag Policy

You're welcome to bring bags, but be aware that all bags will undergo security checks upon entry. To expedite your entrance, consider traveling light or even going bag-free, as there are separate lines for those without bags, which tend to move faster.

The venue offers coat checks where you can store your belongings. Remember that these services can experience long lines during peak times, such as early morning or closing hours.
