  • Easy location for Meguro and friendly host. There was some difficulty with timing the pick up since they had time available earlier than the establishment opens. The location is the downstairs bar/cafe for the given address, which opens at 11 or 11:30 depending on the day.

Bag storage near Meguro Station for the Meguro River cherry blossom walk

Recommended for: inbound tourists, event attendees, couples visiting for seasonal outings.

If you're flying into Haneda and want to catch the cherry blossoms along the Meguro River before checking into your hotel, you'll need somewhere to stash your bags. Station coin lockers exist, but they can fill quickly during peak sakura season. The cherry-lined stretch of the river is about 3.8 kilometers long, with around 800 trees forming the famous pink canopy, and the walk from Meguro Station up to Nakameguro follows it. That's a lot of walking with a suitcase in tow. Bounce has a location called Close to Meguro River Cherry Blossoms Promenade, a cafe about a 2 minute walk from Meguro Station. It's rated 5.0 from 5 reviews and is open Thursday to Sunday from 11am to 6pm, so it's closed Monday to Wednesday and you'll need to pick up your bag before 6pm. From ¥275, you can drop your luggage and spend the afternoon walking the promenade, stopping at the little bridges for photos, grabbing something from the food stalls during festival season.

Where to store bags when visiting Tokyo Teien Art Museum from Meguro

Recommended for: museum visitors, tourists on day trips, art enthusiasts.

The Tokyo Teien Art Museum sits just east of Meguro Station, about a 7 minute walk. It's housed in a 1933 Art Deco building that used to be Prince Asaka's residence. It's a lovely place to spend an afternoon. The museum's website doesn't say what its bag rules are, so if you have a full suitcase, for example between checkout and your next hotel, it's worth calling ahead to confirm. Near Tokyo Teien Art Museum is a shaved ice shop about a 4 minute walk from Meguro Station and roughly 350 meters in a straight line from the museum. It's rated 5.0 from 6 reviews. You can drop your luggage there, spend a couple hours wandering the Japanese and Western gardens, check out whatever exhibition is running, then pick up your stuff after. The shop is open Monday from 10am to 11pm and Tuesday from 10am to 6pm, and closed Wednesday to Sunday. The museum is open 10am to 6pm and closed on Mondays, so Tuesday is the one day both are open. Check the hours in the app before you plan your visit.
Me and my wife agreed that if this is our only trip to Japan in our lifetime, one of the thing that we should do is trying out Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto. It was quite pricey but it was worth it. I managed to took a picture of it when we’re waiting for our Shinkansen to come.

Left luggage options at Meguro Station when coin lockers are full

Recommended for: business travelers, tourists with large suitcases, commuters transferring to shinagawa.

Station coin lockers can fill up at busy times, and a big suitcase needs one of the larger ones. Near Meguro Station is a Bounce partner location in the basement of the Meguro Central Square parking facility, about a 1 minute walk from the main exit of Meguro Station. It's rated 4.8 from 6 reviews and is open 6:30am to 11:30pm every day, except Saturdays when it opens at 9am. It's useful if you're doing the classic move of checking out from a hotel near Meguro, spending the day exploring Ebisu or Shibuya on the Yamanote Line, then catching an evening train to Shinagawa for the Shinkansen or airport transfer. Each booking comes with ¥1,000,000 protection, so your stuff is covered. With over 2,000,000 customers worldwide using Bounce, it's a reliable backup when the station lockers let you down.
