ArtWalk San Diego 2025
Looking for a weekend filled with inspiration? ArtWalk San Diego brings together talented artists, live music, interactive experiences, and delicious local flavor!
Since 1984, ArtWalk San Diego has hosted fine art festivals that honor visual and performing arts. Its mission is to establish high-quality venues where fine artists can exhibit and sell their work and make original art collections accessible to all.
Today, there are four ArtWalk San Diego events. The oldest is Mission Fed ArtWalk in Little Italy, a two-day festival that's celebrating its 41st birthday on April 26 and 27, 2025. Then came ArtWalk Liberty Station, an August summer event at Ingram Plaza in the Arts District. The latest events are ArtWalk Carlsbad in California and Bella Vita Fest in downtown San Diego.
Little Italy is an ideal backdrop for arts events for many reasons. Located near San Diego Bay, this charming neighborhood offers beautiful ocean breezes and picturesque views. It's also known for its thriving arts scene, with streets lined by cafés, boutiques, and galleries that create a compelling artistic atmosphere.
What to Expect When Attending ArtWalk San Diego 2025
Here’s a breakdown of what makes this festival an unforgettable experience:
- Visual art presentations: Over 250 artists from the U.S. and beyond display their creations along the streets and in open-air galleries. You'll have a chance to meet the artists and purchase artwork, such as paintings, sculptures, photography, ceramics, glasswork, and mixed media art. The artistic styles range from modern and abstract to traditional and contemporary, so there's something for every art lover.
- Four music stages: Enjoy live music performances of jazz, blues, Latin beats, indie rock, and acoustic performances. Some stages focus on local talent, while others highlight internationally recognized artists to complement the event's artistic energy.
- Interactive art experiences: A special section called KidsWalk is dedicated to hands-on art experiences for children. Here, families can participate in painting, drawing, and craft activities. At live art demonstrations, you'll watch professional artists create works in real time, from large-scale paintings to intricate sculptures. Some areas invite attendees to contribute to mural paintings or interactive installations. This allows everyone to be part of the creative process and have a great time!
- Food and fun: The festival is surrounded by Little Italy’s famous restaurants, cafés, and wine bars. They offer authentic Italian cuisine, fresh seafood, and gourmet street food. Food vendors at the event serve everything from artisan pizzas and paninis to handcrafted gelato and espresso. Also, a beer and wine garden lets visitors enjoy a drink while taking in the art and music.
The festival is free to attend, but bring cash to savor food, refresh with a drink, and buy some artwork that catches your eye!
Security Protocols
The festival follows standard security protocols, including bag checks at entry points, roaming event staff and security personnel, and marked emergency exits to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. While large bags and outside alcohol are discouraged, small bags and personal items are welcome. Friendly security teams and information booths are available throughout the festival if you need assistance.
How to Get To or From the Event
