The Farmers Insurance Open is a storied PGA tournament held annually at the Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California. It was first held in 1952 under the name San Diego Open and became known as the Farmers Insurance Open in 2010 after Farmers Insurance became its title sponsor.
The golfers compete on two courses at Torrey Pines – the South Course and the North Course.
Many famous golfers have won the event in recent years, including Tiger Woods (who has won it seven times!), Gene Littler, Billy Casper, and Sam Snead.
Come and witness this spectacular golf play from January 22 to 25!
You'll enjoy breathtaking coastal views of the Pacific Ocean, especially on the back nine of the South Course, which features several holes that hug the coastline.
The event features a 72-hole stroke play format. The first two rounds are typically played on both courses, with the final two on the South Course. The Torrey Pines Golf Course, especially the South Course, is known for being one of the more challenging layouts on the PGA Tour. Expect tricky greens, narrow fairways, and coastal winds that can make the course even more difficult!
Additional activities include hospitality tents, vendor booths, and interactive displays, especially in the fan village areas. The tournament is popular, especially in sunny San Diego, so you may spot celebrities or professional athletes enjoying the event!
You'll get the chance to attend the after-party! Many golf fans gather at local bars and restaurants to celebrate after the day’s rounds, so expect lively conversations about the day's highlights, memorable shots, and favorite players.
Expect mild weather! Daytime highs will be around 65–70°F (18–21°C), with lows in the 40s°F (4–9°C) at night. Dress comfortably, and bring a jacket for cooler evenings!
Hurry up to purchase your ticket. They're on sale now! Full Field Days, Wednesday or Thursday, start at $65. Championship Days, Friday, start at $75, and Saturday at $85.

The tournament is played on both the North and South courses of Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, CA. The address is 11480 N Torrey Pines Rd, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States.
The tournament adopted a Wednesday-to-Saturday schedule to avoid conflicting with the NFL's conference championship games, which are typically played on Sunday.
The event features a 156-player field competing over four rounds. The first two rounds are played on both the North and South Courses at Torrey Pines, with each golfer playing one round on each course. After the second round, a cut is made, and the remaining players compete on the South Course for the final two rounds.
Attendees are advised to wear comfortable clothing suitable for walking and varying weather conditions. Layered attire is recommended to adapt to temperature changes throughout the day. Comfortable walking shoes, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen are also suggested.
