About Emirates Stadium

To a certain percentage of the UK population - and, for that matter, people around the world – London's Emirates Stadium needs no introduction. Located in the neighborhood of Holloway in the north of London, this impressive stadium, named for the airline that sponsors it, is the home of Arsenal, one of the top football clubs in world soccer.

The stadium, purpose-built for the club, was opened in 2006 to replace Highbury, the historic home of Arsenal. With a seating capacity of around 60,000, the stadium vibrates to the astonishing noise of tens of thousands of football fans during the soccer season. However, it has also been the venue for other events, including a summit between the British Prime Minister and the French president, and the live finals of TV shows like Britain's Got Talent and Big Brother. Artists of the stature of Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, and Green Day have also played at the stadium in the past.

In the relatively short time since it was first opened, Emirates Stadium has become a major part of the entertainment infrastructure in this part of London. So whether you're visiting to watch Arsenal play or heading to the stadium for a concert, you can expect to have a great time here.

Emirates Stadium bag policy

The only bags permitted inside Emirates Stadium are those smaller than an A4 sheet of paper. Basically, that means a handbag or a very small backpack. There is no luggage storage at the stadium, but you can find luggage storage facilities that can hold your large bags near Emirates Stadium with Bounce.

Is there luggage storage at the Emirates Stadium?

No, there is nowhere to get your bags stored at Emirates Stadium itself. However, Bounce offers multiple locations in the Emirates Stadium area. By partnering with local shops and other businesses, we make storage near Emirates Stadium easy.

Can you take bags into the Emirates Stadium?

Very small bags such as handbags, along with small compact cameras and other items, are allowed. Really, if your bag is big enough to do anything other than bring snacks to an event, it probably won't be allowed. Luckily, Bounce offers a radical storage solution that allows you to store your belongings near the venue. With affordable daily rates and strong security measures, our partners can accommodate suitcases and anything else you need to store.

Where can I keep my luggage in London?

Before heading to Emirates Stadium, you can leave your bags behind at Kings Cross station. Some of the other major stations in London also offer left luggage facilities, including Victoria, Paddington, and Euston.

Be aware, though, that these facilities often fill up, especially during busy times. They may charge hourly or daily rates, and different stations have different rules about the size of bags you can store. An easier option if you can't leave your things at your hotel is to use Bounce to find luggage storage near Emirates Stadium and leave your belongings there.

How to get to Emirates Stadium

You don't want to drive in London. Between congested traffic, narrow streets, and the ever-increasing congestion charges levied by the city council, public transportation is almost always the best way to get to the stadium.

Luckily, the Emirates is practically surrounded by public transportation infrastructure. Arsenal Station is the closest Tube station to the northern side of the stadium, which you can access via the Ken Friar bridge. For the southern end of the station, Highbury & Islington Station is better.

Arsenal Station is on the Piccadilly line of the London Underground, which connects the neighborhood of Finsbury Park with the center of London and public transport hubs like Piccadilly Circus. Meanwhile, Highbury & Islington station is on the Victoria line and also allows access to the stadium by surface trains.

By air

If you're flying in for an event, London City is the airport geographically closest to the Emirates Stadium area, and it provides flights to select locations across Europe. By taking the Docklands Light Railway from the airport to Bank Station, then taking the Northern Underground line to Moorgate, you can then transfer to a train that will bring you to Drayton Park train station right next to the stadium. Depending on how the transfers work out for you, you can make the journey in less than an hour.

Things to do near Emirates Stadium

Caledonian Park

London is renowned for its many parks. In fact, the British capital has so many parks that it can technically be classed as a forest. Wherever you go in London, you'll find some green space to take a break from the city, and charming Caledonian Park, while far from the biggest or the most famous in London, is one of the closest to the stadium. It provides a great place to stretch your legs and get some fresh air when visiting this area for an event.

The park has gentle walking trails and green lawns ideal for playing sports or stretching out on a sunny day. Its most iconic feature is its Victorian clock tower, which provides a good photo opportunity and an incredible view of the city.

How to get to Caledonian Park

The park is one mile away from the stadium, so you can get there by walking for around 20 minutes, depending on your speed. Alternatively, you can take the Piccadilly line to Caledonian Road Station, which is right next to the park.

Camden

London is, fundamentally, a city made up of diverse neighborhoods, many of which were once towns in their own right. This is part of what makes London so fascinating to explore. Beyond the tourist crowds of the center of London, there's always something new to discover.

Camden is one of the most iconic London neighborhoods around, and it's a fantastic place to explore if you are interested in anything countercultural or eclectic. The highlight of the area is the legendary Camden Market, the largest market in London. A fantastic place to explore the art, music, fashion, and food that make London so vibrant, this is an excellent place to explore after leaving your bags behind in Emirates Stadium luggage storage facilities.

How to get to Camden Market

Probably the simplest way to get to Camden Market from Emirates Stadium is to hop on the London Overground train from Highbury & Islington station. This will take you to Camden Road, and the market is just a short stroll from here.

Regent's Park

One of London's expansive Royal Parks, Regent's Park lies to the south of Emirates Stadium close to the center of London. Like all of London's parks, this is a great place to take a stroll or enjoy a picnic on the grass. The park is also home to London Zoo, where you can encounter gorillas, lions, penguins, and other exotic animals. Plus, Primrose Hill offers some of the best views you'll find anywhere in the capital and is completely free to visit.

Because it lies a little way out of the heart of London, Regent's Park, though popular, doesn't get the tourist crowds some of the other parks do. That makes it a great place to live like a Londoner for a little while and enjoy the parklands the city is famous for.

How to get to Regent's Park

Bus number 29 runs from Sobell Centre just to the north of Emirates Stadium all the way to Robert Street, which is a short walk from the park. The journey will take around 40 minutes and cost you £1.75.

If you'd prefer to use the Underground, you can take the Piccadilly line from Holloway Road to King's Cross, then take the Metropolitan line to Great Portland Street and walk to the park from there.

Luggage storage near Emirates Stadium

More than just the home of one of the world's best-loved soccer clubs, Emirates Stadium is a prime location for all kinds of entertainment events. And although it's located a little way outside of the central London that most tourists want to visit, the excellent public transport system of the British capital makes it easy to get just about anywhere you want to go from here.

This is an area of London that is well worth exploring, either before or after the event that brought you to the Emirates Stadium. Drop off your baggage at a nearby Bounce location, and you'll find there's plenty to see and do in this area of North London. Plus, the main sights of the city are usually only a quick Underground ride away.
