About Kabukicho

Essentially Tokyo’s red-light district, Kabukicho isn’t exactly a place you want to bring the kids, but it’s hardly as sleazy as the name suggests. The "Sleepless Town" moniker is undoubtedly accurate, as the nightclubs, bars, and Izakaya are open very late, especially the ones along Shinjuku Golden Gai, which is lined with tiny pubs serving up delicious meat skewers and cheap pours of Sapporo.

It's far from just a nightlife destination, some of the most popular and interesting local hotels are situated in this part of Shinjuku. Most notable is the Hotel Gracery Shinjuku, which is famous for its gigantic Godzilla head looming over a well-traveled intersection. The zaniness can’t be understated, as even one of Tokyo’s most popular bars is Kabukicho’s iconic Robot Bar.

Kabukicho couldn't be easier to reach as it's located just steps from Shinjuku Station and Seibu Shinjuku Station. If you're planning on heading to Kabukicho for a night out, you can store bags or excess items at a convenient Bounce luggage storage location, so you can get around more easily.
