Austin Marathon 2025

Come to the Live Music Capital of the World and join the crowd as a runner or supporter!

The first Austin Marathon was held in 1992, and it quickly gained popularity due to its beautiful course. This course features rolling hills and iconic landmarks such as the Texas State Capitol, Lady Bird Lake, and neighborhoods that present Austin's charm!

Over the years, the event expanded to include a half marathon and 5K, providing way more opportunities to a wide range of runners.

This marathon, known as Ascension Seton Austin Marathon, supports local charities through its Charity Chaser Program, raising significant funds for various causes!

The races will occur on February 16; don't miss them!

What to Expect When Attending Austin Marathon 2025

The event includes a full marathon, Austin half marathon, and 5K race, starting at 7:00 AM and concluding by 2:00 PM.

You'll run through downtown Austin, Lady Bird Lake, and Austin's unique neighborhoods such as Hyde Park and South Congress. Expect a few hills, but the enthusiastic spectators and live music along the course will more than make up for the challenge!

When you reach the end of the race, you can enjoy snacks, hydration, and live music at the downtown finish line festival to celebrate with others!

Spectators can be prepared for an incredible experience! Some of the finest spots to follow the race include South Congress Avenue, where you can cheer for runners surrounded by trendy shops and restaurants. Lady Bird Lake offers the most relaxed spot to watch the race, and at the finish line (Congress Avenue), you can be part of the high-energy atmosphere as runners complete their journey!

Great news! The weather will be pleasant, featuring average high temperatures around 63°F (17°C) and lows near 47°F (8°C). This is ideal for participants, and spectators can enjoy it as well—just remember to bring a jacket to stay comfortable and make the most of the event!
