About Petco Park
Petco Park is a baseball field located in the East Village district of Downtown San Diego. It's been home to the San Diego Padres MLB team since 2004. It replaced the former home field of the Padres, Qualcomm Stadium, which the Padres shared with the San Diego (now Los Angeles) Chargers of the NFL. While the field is relatively new compared to other MLB home turfs, it's notable in that baseball legend Barry Bonds hit his 755th home run at Petco Park in August 2007, tying the MLB record set by Hank Aaron.
Fun fact: Petco Park is structurally unique in that it was built around the Western Metal Supply Co. building, a National Historic Landmark in San Diego.
