Why use Namba luggage storage?

If you’re planning a trip to Osaka, you’ll have your work cut out for you. The historical capital of Japan boasts dozens of shrines, temples, and other landmarks to keep you busy, no matter how long you’re staying. Sightseeing is a major draw, but the city’s cultural offerings are just as vital to the experience. For a mix of traditional and modern experiences, Namba is a go-to destination for soaking in everything Japanese.

Namba, like other Japanese entertainment districts, is bathed in neon light as its bustling streets are lined with billboards, shipping centers, and street food stalls. The Dotonobori area is particularly great for retail and dining exploits, as is the Shinsaibashi Shopping Arcade. The nearby Amerikamura entertainment district, with its almost cartoonish portrayal/recreation of American culture, will intrigue or bemuse international travelers.

The iconic Namba Shrine is as photogenic as it gets, with an unmistakable lion-head statue adorning the entrance to the grounds. This is simply a must-visit for anyone. To reach other shrines, you'll be able to leverage the efficient public transportation system of Osaka, even on a travel day.

If you're stuck with your bags and want to find a secure place to store them while sightseeing, you should look into the Bounce network. Our baggage storage facilities are more convenient and reliable than a coin locker at a train station, with lots of premium features and impeccable customer service.

Getting around Namba

Osaka Namba Station is the primary transportation hub serving the district and enjoys convenient connections to the rest of the city through the Nankai Main Line, Kintetsu Namba Line, and Hanshin Namba Line. The Osaka Subway also runs through the district, making it easy to pop around the city. There’s also the Nankai Namba Station, but Osaka Namba is the facility most useful for international travelers. If you're trying to explore the area on foot, the Namba Walk covered walkway is ideal for getting around swiftly or when the weather isn’t cooperative.

Getting to and from Namba by train

Osaka Namba Station has multiple commuter and long-distance rail connections, but Nankai Main Line, Kintetsu Namba Line, and Hanshin Namba Line are the most useful.

  • Nankai Line: Summiyoshi Taisha (12 minutes)

Taking the subway around Namba

You can access the Osaka Metro through Namba Station or Nippombashi Station, connecting you with the rest of the city.

  •  Midōsuji Line: Shin Osaka Station (10 minutes), Amerikamura (15 minutes)
  • Sennichimae Line: Shitennoji Temple (10 minutes)
  • Yotsubashi Line: Osaka-Umeda Station (10 minutes), Minoo Park (70 minutes)
  • Sakaisuji Line: Kita Ward (20 minutes from Nippombashi Station)

Getting to Namba from the airport

If you’re flying in through Kansai International Airport, you can take the Nankai Airport Express train directly to Namba in about 45 minutes. A taxi ride will be quick but can cost upwards of $60 as opposed to $10 via public transit.

If you're trying to explore Namba on a travel day, don't let your bags get in the way. Drop them off at a secure Bounce facility so you can enjoy your holiday (or business trip) in one of Japan's top travel hotspots. Heading to Tokyo? Bounce has dozens of locations in every corner of this vast metropolis, so you can get around more easily or head out on day trips to ski resorts or remote temples.
