Distortion Ø is part of the Distortion Festival. It’s a two-day electronic music festival on Refshaleøen in Copenhagen.
Distortion began in 1998 as a small, roving party that celebrated Copenhagen’s nightlife and underground music. Over the years, it grew into one of Europe’s biggest street festivals, with over 100,000 people attending each year. The festival spans five days and starts with free street parties in different neighborhoods (like Nørrebro and Vesterbro) before culminating in the epic Distortion Ø finale.

The festival features five stages: Forest, Rave, Sunrise, Oasis, and Shadow.
On Friday, there's also the Havnefest, a free harbor party from 4 PM to 9 PM at different central Copenhagen and Refshaleøen locations.
Tickets
An Island Weekend pass costs DKK 1100 (~$160), while a single-day ticket costs DKK 650 (~$94). Purchase your ticket(s) and get ready to party!
Security Protocols
Expect bag checks at the entrance, and only small bags are allowed. Glass bottles, weapons, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited. There’s a dedicated security team and medical staff on-site to assist if needed. Stay hydrated, look out for your friends, and don’t hesitate to approach the staff—they’re there to help.
How to Get To or From the Event
To reach Refshaleøen, you have several options:
- Bus: Take Bus 2A from central Copenhagen (Nørreport or Rådhuspladsen) towards Refshaleøen. It drops you close to the festival entrance.
- Metro: Take M1 or M2 metro to Christianshavn Station, then transfer to Bus 2A.
- Bike: Cycling to Refshaleøen takes 15–20 minutes from the city center. You can rent a bike through Donkey Republic or other bike rental services.
- Harbor ferry: Take the public harbor ferry (Route 991 or 992) from Nyhavn or Nordre Toldbod to Refshaleøen.
