About Minatomirai Station
Minato Mirai 21, or simply Minatomirai, is one of the newest developments along Yokohama Port. It was dubbed the “harbor of the future" after the Landmark Tower (then the tallest in Japan) was built in the 90s. What was once a shipyard is now sleek high-rise buildings and skyscrapers catering to both commerce and entertainment. It’s often called the "central district" by locals, and it makes sense as it certainly resembles what Brits and Australians call the Central Business District. You’ll find the Pacifico Convention Center along with high-end hotels like the Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu and the Intercontinental Hotel.
As far as attractions go, the Yokohama Landmark Tower’s Sky Garden of the Sky Building offers sweeping views of Tokyo Bay and makes for the perfect activity between meetings or when you’re sightseeing through Yokohama. There are also numerous spas with hot springs, elegant dining options, and even an amusement park. One of Yokohama’s top historical landmarks, the Red Brick Warehouse, is situated along the district’s waterfront.
Whether you’re heading to Minatomirai for business or pleasure, Minatomirai Station makes for easy connections to Yokohama Station and beyond. If you’re just getting into Yokohama and need to head to a conference or want to head up to the top of the Landmark Tower, you can use our luggage storage service at みなとみらい 3-7-1 for added convenience. It certainly beats searching for small luggage lockers near the Minatomirai Station ticket gates or the Keikyu central entrance or west entrance at Yokohama Station.

How to get to or from Minatomirai Station
Similar to Tokyo, Yokohama is wonderfully interconnected via Japan Rail (JR) trains and its own subway, and there’s even a private railway company operating the Minato Mirai Lines that run north-south along the coastline. This directly serves the entire Minato Mirai district as most attractions and commercial buildings are within a short walk of the main gates. Minatomirai (understandably) is the busiest station along the line and provides easy access to Yokohama Station and other major hubs. Train station maps and numbering use navy blue and the symbol ‘MM’ for the Minatomirai Line.
Walkable attractions from Minatomirai Station
Queen's Square, Cosmo World, Sky Garden, Manyo Club Spa, Yokohama Air Cabin, Red Brick Warehouse, and the Landmark Plaza are all within a 20-minute walk of Minatomirai Station.

Connections to Tokyo airports

You can also take a combination of the Skyliner and Keihin-Tohoku Line and get there in just over two hours, but it only saves you a few dollars.
- From Haneda Airport, you’ll take the Keihin-Tohoku Line to Yokohama Station and transfer to the Minatomirai Line to get to the district in about 35 minutes.
