About Sapporo Station

Sapporo is by far the most popular travel destination in Northern Japan, with access to some of the country's best skiing and outdoor recreation. The city's name is immediately recognizable because of the iconic beer brand, and the brewery remains a huge draw with its museum and beer garden.

Sapporo Station, situated in the central Kita-Ku ward, is the starting point for most travelers looking to reach the legendary mountains of Hokkaido along with the wonderful Sapporo City center. The station itself has a worthy attraction in the impressive T38 Observation Deck at the top of the JR Tower

Whether you’re heading to Sapporo to get to the slopes or want to explore the city, you can always choose one of the many Bounce luggage storage locations, like our partner at Sapporo Station. We place our storage spots exactly where you need them!

How to pay for luggage storage at Sapporo Station

  • Search for your location and book: With the app's intuitive search function, you can locate the most convenient Bounce storage spot for where you’re heading! Using the mobile app or website, you can select the storage spot, plug in your details, and be confirmed in minutes.
  • Book based on your schedule: Each Bounce booking is for a 24-hour period, so you won’t have to worry about watching the clock. Whether you need it for a few hours or a few days, you can tailor your luggage storage to your itinerary.
  • Complete your online payment: Once you have all the location, date, and item details entered, proceed to pay the flat rate directly in the app. You can book well in advance or even once you get to Sapporo Station.
  • Reserve your spot: Paying online means you'll get your confirmation right away, which guarantees space for your bags at the chosen Sapporo Station luggage storage location.

How does luggage storage differ from traditional lockers?

  • Flexibility is key: Unlike coin lockers in Sapporo Station, a Bounce storage space isn’t limited to specific dimensions. This is useful for travelers looking to store heavy luggage or sports equipment that won’t fit in even large lockers. This is especially useful for skiers visiting Hokkaido’s resorts!
  • Useful features: Luggage lockers won’t have a system in place for tracking reservations or QR codes to make check-in easy. That’s why the Bounce service provides so much value.
  • Professional care: Every Bounce location must meet quality and security standards to ensure each item is handled with care.
  • Staffed locations: With traditional coin-operated lockers, they are generally located in high-traffic areas and not as secure as a staffed luggage storage spot. You'll have a friendly attendant at all of our local business partners to help with your bags and even provide recommendations on Sapporo attractions. Our locations are usually open from 9 AM to 8 PM, with some open as late as 24 hours a day.

It's situated in the heart of the city below the JR Tower (the most recognizable feature of the Sapporo skyline). It’s connected to the rest of Japan via the Hokkaido Shinkansen as well as two of the main metro lines serving the city. The Sapporo Station Bus Terminal is a prominent part of the transit facility, which is where many of the coach buses and resorts operate routes to the mountains.

You can use the JR Rail Pass for transfers to the subway or other train lines through Sapporo Station.
