Welcome to Palm Springs, the town that celebrates diversity and equal rights for everyone!
Palm Springs Pride's first celebration took place in 1986. The Riviera Resort's grand ballroom was the gathering place for the people and local entertainers. During this Pride Parade, known as the Desert Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade, the visitors enjoyed dinner before the start of the grand show. People walked from Williams Road to Mesquite and headed to Demuth Park, the festival’s venue.
Today, this event draws over 125,000 people from around the world to South California!
The Palm Springs Pride Festival, with the theme ‘Be You,’ takes place from Oct 31 to Nov 3. The parade starts at 10 am on November 3. This colorful parade steps off in the Uptown Design District and ends at Amado.
Multiple venues will be used, including Palm Canyon Drive between Amado and Baristo, Arenas District between Indian Canyon and S. Calle Encilia, and the streets around the downtown park on Museum Way.
Palm Springs is all about love, art, music, and self-expression. Here, you can express who you truly are, celebrate diversity, and be a part of a free and accepting community.
Expect many activities and events, from a parade to a street fair and a music festival. A drag pageant will also be held, bringing excitement to this festival.
You'll be able to enjoy tasty food from various food trucks and drinks from many beverage stations throughout the venue. Add that to excellent restaurants in downtown Palm Springs where you can dine.
Don't miss out on great live music performances and DJ Sets at nightly block parties! The stages will be scattered all around. You can see the program for each stage here. The artists will gather to give you a spectacular time and a chance to party!
There will also be a Youth Zone, a space for kids to enjoy games, arts, and crafts.
During the festival, the weather will be sunny and mild with cooler evenings, so dress light but bring something warmer. The temperatures will range from 66.6°F (19°C) during the day to 49°F (9.5°C) during the evening.
The Palm Springs Pride Festival and Parade are free! However, the organizers encourage all to purchase a Gateless ticket online as a donation to keep this event free in the future. There will also be bins where you can put some change as a donation.
Additionally, you can give extra donations to the festival using this link.
