Why use Copenhagen City Centre luggage storage?

Copenhagen is no longer Europe’s best-kept secret, far from it. What’s been dubbed the coolest city in Europe has become a major destination for trendy travelers looking to experience the cutting-edge comforts of Scandinavian culture.

Known as ‘Indre By’ by locals, Copenhagen’s downtown area is a far cry from the concrete jungles of the US. This is a busy but approachable city center that will welcome you with open arms and invite you for some hygge (look it up). Getting around is as easy as most of the top landmarks, museums, and infamous areas like Freetown Christiania are within a short bike ride or even walk.

“The best” is a word often thrown around when describing the Danish Capital’s cultural offerings. And it's not always hyperbolic. The restaurant scene is incredible, and that might be an understatement. One of the most famous (or “best”) craft breweries in the world was founded here, and you’ll find Mikkeller locations and their fun beers everywhere in the city center.

Downtown Copenhagen is best explored on foot or two wheels. And if you're heading there straight from the airport, you may want to find a place to keep your bags for a few hours. If you need to store your luggage in Copenhagen, Bounce should be your go-to option in Denmark and the city center.

Getting around Copenhagen City Centre

As one of the most eco-friendly cities on the planet, Copenhagen is best navigated via public transportation or even on bikes. Cabs are prohibitively expensive for most budget-minded travelers, and they rarely make sense for reaching the central downtown area. The metro covers most of your bases, and renting a bike for your tour of Copenhagen will make things even easier.

Biking is the best way

Ready to explore? Biking in Copenhagen it's not just a local pastime. Plenty of out-of-towners will choose to rent a bike for a few days while in the Danish capital. Even in the bustling downtown area, there are protected bike lanes to accommodate cyclists along with racks outside of major attractions for docking your bike. There are dozens of landmarks and attractions within a 15-minute bike ride from the city center.

Train connections for Copenhagen City Centre

Copenhagen Central Station is the second busiest train station in the city after Nørreport, and it's a major hub for long-distance trains from Stockholm and Hamburg along with other cities in Denmark. The S-train commuter rail network is also routed through Copenhagen Central, but this is primarily useful for locals rather than tourists as the metro is better for sightseeing.

Taking the metro to Copenhagen City Centre

Kongens Nytorv is the primary Copenhagen Metro station serving the city center. It's well connected to other parts of the city through every major metro line.

  • M1: Christianshavn (5 minutes), Fredericksburg (20 minutes), Copenhagen Zoo (24 minutes)
  • M2: Amagerbro (9 minutes), Copenhagen Airport (20 minutes)
  • M3: Norrebro Station (15 minutes), Osterport (10 minutes), Parken Stadium (12 minutes), Vesterbro Neighborhood (11 minutes)
  • M4: Copenhagen Central Station (8 minutes), Kastellet (11 minutes)

Getting to Copenhagen City Centre from the airport

The best way to get downtown from Copenhagen Airport is by the Metro M2, which only takes about 20 minutes to reach Kongens Nytorv Station. This is both faster and less expensive than a cab ride or private transfer, for example.

With locations near top cultural districts and landmarks and unparalleled customer service, the best Copenhagen luggage storage option is easily Bounce.  So if you're planning to visit Copenhagen, there's really only one option for storing your bags while you cycle around the city.
