Left luggage near Lyon Part Dieu when the station lockers are full
Recommended for: rail travelers in transit, business travelers, international tourists.
Part Dieu is one of those stations where the official left luggage area fills up fast, especially on weekends and holidays. We've seen it ourselves. You get off your TGV, head to the lockers, and there's a line or no space at all. That's when having a backup matters. The Lyon Gare Part Dieu location from Bounce has handled over 10,600 bags and sits just a short walk from the station exit. It's open on Sundays, which helps if you're catching a late train. With 790+ reviews and a solid rating, it's become the go-to spot for travelers who need somewhere reliable. Prices start from €3.25 per day, and each booking comes with €10,000 protection. Once your bags are sorted, you can grab lunch at Halles Paul Bocuse or wander through the Part Dieu mall. Most people don't realize how walkable the area is when they're not dragging a suitcase around.
Bag storage options around Lyon Perrache for bus and budget travelers
Recommended for: budget travelers, rail travelers in transit, event attendees.
Perrache is where most FlixBus routes drop you off, and the station itself can feel a bit chaotic during peak hours. The official lockers here? Sometimes available, sometimes not. We've heard from friends who arrived early morning only to find them closed for maintenance. Bounce has several 24/7 options near Perrache. The Near Gare de Lyon Perrache location has nearly 1,900 reviews and a near-perfect rating. Another solid choice is 24/7 Lyon, which has stored over 2,400 bags and stays open around the clock. Both accept Sunday drop-offs. From Perrache, you're close to the Confluence district with its modern architecture and the science museum. Or head north toward Bellecour on foot. Bounce now covers 62 locations across Lyon, so there's usually something nearby wherever you end up.
Luggage lockers in Vieux Lyon for sightseeing without the weight
Recommended for: international tourists, day trippers.
Vieux Lyon's cobblestones are charming until you're wheeling a suitcase over them. The old town has narrow streets, steep hills toward Fourvière, and traboules that are impossible to explore with bags in tow. Trust us on this one. The Vieux Lyon location from Bounce sits close to the Saint Jean Cathedral area. It's rated 4.8 with 160 reviews and stays open late, plus on Sundays. If you're taking the funicular up to the basilica, our spot near Funiculaire de Lyon is another option with a near-perfect 5.0 rating from 240+ reviews. With over 22,800 bags stored across Lyon through Bounce, travelers clearly prefer dropping their stuff before tackling those Renaissance alleyways. The app rating sits at 4.9, which says something about how smooth the process usually goes. Grab a quenelle at a bouchon, explore the traboules, then pick up your bags on the way back to the metro.
