Moody Center Bag Policy 2024 - Key Details
If you want to experience the ultimate live entertainment fun in Austin, then you've got to get a ticket to an event taking place at Moody Center. Known for hosting the biggest names in the music industry, and other types of performances, this is a great way to get a taste of the city. It's located on the University of Texas Austin campus, which is always buzzing with activity. The venue seats more than 15,000 people so you can bet it gets pretty crazy at times.
Located at 2001 Robert Dedman Dr in Austin, the Moody Center opened in 2022, so it's new and modern. Some of the best and biggest names that have already performed here include Lizzo, Harry Styles, Dave Matthews, Madonna, Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, and Kendrick Lamar.
If music isn't your thing, non-event days without a concert taking place can include hosting a family-friendly show, local events, and even the men's and women's University of Texas basketball games. Just make sure you check the calendar of events so you can purchase tickets that suit your interests.
What else can you do while in Austin? The list is massive, with this venue just being one small part of it. Other highlights can include Blanton Museum of Art, Bullock Texas State History Museum, shopping on Rainey Street, the nightlife on Sixth Street, Austin Nature & Science Center, and Thinkery (Austin's children's museum). Austin has also made a name for itself when it comes to the dining scene, so be sure to arrive with an appetite!
We know you're probably excited to hit up the box office and score some tickets to a concert, game, or show, but first, let's look at the Moody Center bag policy so you're prepared.
Bag Policy at Moody Center: What You Need to Know Before You Visit
The bag policy at this arena is very clear, guests are encouraged to leave all belongings at home. That's easier said than done if you arrive in Austin and haven't yet checked into your hotel. Not to worry, we've got you covered, but let's first discuss the bag policy.
Fans can bring one clear bag that doesn't exceed 14″ x 14″ x 6″. Guests may choose to instead bring a non-clear small bag that doesn't exceed 5″ x 9″ x 1.5″. These types of "bags" can be a small clutch, a wallet, or a small purse. You can also bring clear re-sealable bags that don’t exceed one gallon.
The Moody Center does not make exceptions for diaper bags as some stadiums do. If you’re traveling with one, the bag’s contents will need to be emptied into a suitable clear plastic bag. While most arenas and stadiums allow diaper bags, this one does not. Instead, patrons will need to follow the clear bag policy and put all contents into one that fits the size restrictions. All items will go through a security check.
The stadium does offer some on-site storage lockers but they tend to fill up fast so it's not wise to count on this option.
