What to Expect When Attending McAllen Holiday Parade 2024

You'll get to cheer on hundreds of balloon handlers as they spin giant character balloons in McAllen's balloon-twirling tradition the day before the parade. 

Then, on December 7, you'll see those balloons at the parade, giving a whimsical touch to the magical atmosphere of the new Vuelta Zones. The Vuelta Zones are special seating areas where spectators can watch the giant balloons spin up close, adding an interactive element to the event.

Parade floats and performances are also part of the parade. Expect illuminated floats handcrafted by local organizations and schools. These decorated floats are themed around Christmas and holiday spirit. It's a truly enchanting experience.

The parade will kick off with fireworks while the famous hosts Mario Lopez and Julian Gil discuss Texas tradition! The hosts will appear at the parade route and engage with the audience, providing commentary as the event unfolds.

Marching bands and hundreds of students will sing the official McAllen Holiday Parade anthem, filling the 1.5-mile parade route with music.

The parade closes with visitors enjoying the area's best food and live concerts at McAllen's famous Christmas in the Park celebration.
