About Moscone Center

The Moscone Center is located across three blocks in the SoMa (South of Market) neighborhood in San Francisco. It’s comprised of three main halls: Moscone South, Moscone North, and Moscone West. Untitled (Three Dancing Figures), a sculpture by Keith Haring, is located outside of Moscone South, and other works of art can be found throughout the rest of the complex. The Center opened in 1981 and was named after former San Francisco mayor George Moscone, who was assassinated by former City Supervisor Dan White in November 1978.

Fun fact: George Moscone—after whom the complex is named—was known as the “people’s mayor,” whose legacy included reflecting the diversity of San Francisco in his appointments at City Hall.

Perhaps you’re running from the airport straight to hotels near the Moscone Center (or vice versa), or maybe you’re attending a conference with bags and supplies in tow that will be too cumbersome to carry around with you for post-convention gatherings.
