Often described as one of the hidden gems of Italy, Rimini is a small city, but with plenty to offer. Whether you are there for the stunning beaches that line the Adriatic coast and the associated nightlife, or to explore the Roman and Renaissance architecture and monuments, there will be something here for you to enjoy.
With a history that dates back to 268 BC. it should come as no surprise that there is a distinct historical attraction here, especially in the walled areas of the old city center. The Roman influence is so strong it is almost palpable but so too is the Renaissance influence.
For those more into catching the sun and dancing the night away, Rimini is one of the most notable of Europe’s beach resorts. You have nine miles of white sand divided into small more personal private plots, each with its own facilities which act as a magnet for both locals and foreign travelers.
The city sprawls along the Adriatic coastline and is crammed with nightclubs, hotels, and, of course, those wonderful Italian restaurants that no visit to Italy would be complete without.
Mixing historic attractions with more family-friendly activities, Rimini has something for everyone. From the station itself, you are in easy striking distance of many of the city’s main attractions, and here are some you might like to consider

Historically, Rimini has always acted as a crossroads between the north and south of Italy. That means that for centuries, different people and cultures have lent their influence to this part of the world, making it a kaleidoscope of sights and a place where a multitude of flavors can be sampled.
The Arch of Augustus dates back to 27 BC and one would expect a structure so old to be little more than a ruin. In fact, this magnificent arch has weathered the assaults of time with careless aplomb and makes for spectacular photographs. Wander through the arch and visit the grounds while you are there.
This square lies at the very heart of the city so on any real excursion it would be a hard one to miss, and you certainly wouldn’t want to.
It is surrounded by architectural delights which have all witnessed Rimini’s history in the making. To the south you have the tiny Tempietto di Sant Antonio and Chiesa Dei Paolotti. In total contrast, on the north, there are chic boutiques and top-end restaurants. The square itself plays host to a seasonal market and if you time it right you might get to see a live concert.
This palace is one of the most important historical buildings in Rimini. It was designed by Sismondo Pandollo Malatesta, lord of Rimini in 1437. Consisting of six stone towers and surrounded by a moat, it fell into disrepair. As recently as 1967 the ancient moat was still being used as a prison.
Today the palace is undergoing renovation and some of the magnificent rooms such as the delightfully named Snail’s Bedroom and the Cricket’s Room are once again being revealed.
Let’s face it, no matter how much you enjoy traveling and exploring new places, it can be a tiring business and sometimes you just want to sit down and admire the view. One way to get a panoramic overview of this city is to hop onto a giant Ferris wheel and Rimini has just the thing.
The Ruota Panoramica is 55 meters high, weighs 360 tons, and offers spectacular views of the city and the coastline. What’s more, you won’t be dangling in one of those crazy little seats. Instead, you will be able to admire the world below you from the comfort of a cozy and secure cabin offering the view without the adrenalin rush.
Finally, there is the beach. To mention Rimini without emphasizing its beach would be to do the city a disservice. Here you can laze on a sun lounger, duck into a quaint little coffee shop or sip cocktails at one of the many beachfront hotels. All the options for all the family.
