About the Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is not only the largest in New York - it’s one of the biggest in America. Referred to as the “Met” by most, this massive building is over a century old. Architect Richard Morris Hunt collaborated with Calvert Vaux and Jacob Wrey Mould to build the Met in 1874. The building houses more than two million art pieces and features permanent collections from around the world. The Met also has a massive film archive. 

Fun fact: since January 2020, the Met has started uploading these films to their YouTube channel once a week.
